How to Wash Your Clothes in Your Hotel Room

hotel-room-laundrymat 005This evening I started to think about my stay here in Panama.  It’s been over two weeks since I got here and my clothes could probably use a good cleaning.  But then I realized, how?

So in a synaptic pulse that seemed like such a terrific idea at the time I headed for the bathroom.  I turned the hot water on full blast and plugged the shower drain.  I then gathered all my dirty clothes and threw them in the water.  Then I proceeded to grab a bar of soap and began hand washing my clothes.

Next came the real problem though, drying them.  Most of my garments ended up on the bed and on the hangers in the closet but my intuition tells me I’m going to be disappointed they’re not fully dry in the morning.

For me, doing laundry is not fun at all.   It’s a lot of time consuming work to hang up your clothes, button all the buttons on your shirts, hang your stuff to dry, etc.

Paul wants me to tell you the Spanish word for laundromat- lavaderia! They will do it (with ironing) for a few bucks! You can always find someone to do it in S. America, I am sure C. America is the same! Afraid you’ll be boarding your flight for Brazil with wet clothes! Ugh. Oh well, they will dry in Brazil anyway. It will be difficult for you to buy clothes on the road, may have to wait for the Netherlands to buy some for tall people! 🙂 Good luck with your travels today!!
