A day in Phnom Penh

Siray Dai is a 22yr old student I met at Martini's

Cambodia has been a real treat for me so far.  I’ve been relaxing during the days at the restaurants by the river, strolling through the malls in the afternoons and at night hitting all the top venues.

I’ve been really enjoying some of the food here in Cambodia.  Their western food is also quite good.  Last night, I met up with two new friends, Tim from South Africa and Bill from Canada for a great meal and then some drinks.  We visited Martini’s which is a bar, restaurant, outdoor movie theater, billiards house and disco/club.  Imagine the licensing permits to get something like that going in the west, haha.

The three of us had a great time drinking $1.50 Angkor draft beers and checking out the beautiful Cambodian women.  Tim was fortunate enough to get a complete upper body massage from a young woman while the three of us chatted away.  Tim offered her a drink and she kindly declined!  She hung close to him for a while and then politely said goodnight.  I joking told him, “In America she would have never refused your offer for a drink and that massage you just got – nope, never would have happend…  You’d be the one massaging her!”

Sounds like a good time. Nice and relaxing. You are meeting such a huge variety of people – one of the great things about traveling, huh?

I’m anxious to read your Ankar Watt report. I hope you don’t get mobbed with tourists. I understand the sites are being just over run with thousands of people.
